Price a Wanted Man
"The summer was really good," Price began. "I played at Peach Jam, the LeBron Camp, and Saint Louis (Summer Classic)."
The Peach Jam is where Price really broke out, averaging 18.4 points per game and showing an ability to score against the highest level of competition. Against the NJ Playaz, Price went 6-10 from 3, dropping 25 points. In all, Price placed among the top ten scorers for the event.
While his reputation is as a shooter, Jodan explained that he is more than just that. "I take what I can get. If I'm open I'll shoot it, if not I can pump fake and drive. I can score from all three levels," he explained.
Checking in at 6'7 and 175 pounds, Price has terrific size for the shooting guard position. Due to his size, many label him a small forward, but Price says that is not the case. " They see me as a shooting guard, definitely," Price replied when asked whether college coaches were recruiting him as a guard or as a forward.
As of now, the plan for Jodan is to take visits in September. When asked what schools were currently involved in his recruitment, Jodan rattled off an impressive list. Minnesota, Northwestern, DePaul, Saint Joseph's, Colorado, Duquesne, Lamar, Eastern Michigan, and Hofstra were all mentioned. Price does have a connection to Lamar, as his uncle, Joseph Price, is an assistant coach there.
As evidenced by the list of schools, location is not a concern for Price. Academics are of importance for Price, as is his ability to fit in and play early. "I want a team I can make an impact on early," Price explained.
Saint Joseph's is in need of a guard in the class of 2012, especially a guard that can hit from the perimeter with regularity. As much as nearly any other prospect in that class, Price fits that bill.
