In April, 2013 Massanutten Military Academy (VA) wing guard Ahmad Fields took his first unofficial visit, to Saint Joseph's. Fields now has his first official lined up, to a familiar school.
On Tuesday afternoon,
Ahmad Fields
, a 6'5 lefty wing guard, informed Hawk Hill Hardwood that he would be taking his first official visit this week. On Thursday, Fields will make the trip to Hawk Hill and officially visit St. Joe's.
Last year, Ahmad attended Virginia's Blue Ridge Academy, and he spent the summer running with the famed DC Assault AAU program. This year, at Massanutten, Fields will have the opportunity to play on a talent-rich roster against an extremely competitive schedule.
At roughly 6'4-6'5, Fields is a long and wiry strong perimeter player. Offensively, he is difficult to stop going to the basket, and also possesses a jumper from deep that keeps defenders honest. While he is a very good offensive player, it is on the defensive end that Ahmad truly stands out. With his strong, wide frame and footspeed, he has the look of a very tough perimeter defender at the college level.
While Saint Joseph's is lined up for his first official visit, Ahmad is currently being recruited by a handful of schools.
Ole Miss
is another school heavily under consideration for an official visit. In a video interview with Marcus Helton of DMVElite last week, Fields also listed the Hawks, Ole Miss, and then
Colorado
,
Washington
, and Delaware.
Last weekend, the Hawks hosted seniors
Tevon Saddler
,
Sam Dingba
, and
Rodney Williams
. This weekend, it's DC native Ahmad Fields. Continue to check back with Hawk Hill Hardwood for the latest on these four recruits.
